I moved from NC to finish grad school at UM .. Why is it everytime I ask for directions , its always...Go north there, go south there..this is the only state Ive been to that does that , most people say go left, go right...lol
Maybe I could just find a great gal to show me around..heheh or perhaps a compass..lol |

I dated a guy from Michigan and we had the same exact discussion. He gave me that N, S, E, W direction crap and I looked at him like he had 4 arms. I explained to him that its MUCH easier to do the left right stuff. I only know if I am going N, S, E, W if I am actually on the interstate hehe.

I lived in Michigan too & I think I know why everyone says north,east, south & west.
Firstly becasue Michigan's main roads are layed out like a grid, so it'd be easier to say North or South on a specific sreet cuz many are very long streets that run almost through the entire southern part of MI. 2ndly...those darn Michigan lefts prevent us from saying "take a left on Crooks". So you think I have a point or do you have a different opinion?? |
