OK, I been trying to get Illinois to come together and chit chat with each other but.... seems like there are only certain boards that get posted on. Therefore I am hoping people will come and check this one often and make some friends or say hello or something. Not sure why people join dating sites and then they are all quiet, picky and just.... blah.

Unfortunately, the Chicago forum is generally about as lively as a stegosaurus skeleton in a boarded-up cemetery after midnight. Not sure why that is -- there are plenty of Chicago-area people on the site -- but they don't post in the forums, and, as far as I've been able to determine, they don't answer e-mails either.

Maybe that will change in the future....but I wouldn't count on it....

OK, good, one more from Illinois anyway! The funny thing is, I've heard from maybe 7 or 8 from central and southern Illinois, and they actually participate on JSH! And quite a few from Indiana, too.

But practically NOBODY from Chicago or the suburban area ever says a word.

And I've done searches, and there are hundreds of Chicago-area people on this site. Why don't they ever show themselves? It's just weird.

But I'm glad you spoke up, Digger. Maybe there's some hope for this state after all -- even if we have to cut off the top part....!

Im from central Illinois but i live in northern Illinois right now...most people from Illinois say they are from Chicago because the rest of this country has probably never heard of there home town. When people ask where you are from Illini's usually relate it to how far they are from Chicago.

I'm in Joliet, also noticed no one seems to be replying to any mail out here. Perhaps it's the weather?

Nah, it's been like that for over a year since I got here. Winter, summer, it doesn't make any difference.

I gave up on e-mailing locals ages ago. After I got established here, I started getting tons of e-mails -- but still nothing from locals. I don't think it will get any better until we get some new local people on the site -- the old ones just don't want to participate.
