in my own lil world, flea from red hot chili peppers does amazing things with a bass, californication is a killer bass line,, anything from primus, les is a god, and longview from greenday

The best bass lines I can think of are (listed by artist/group, not bassist) James Brown - Get up Offa that Thing, Get up (Sex Machine) Jet - Are you gonna be my girl Tool - 46 & 2, Schism, Hush Alice in Chains - Would Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song, Whole Lotta Love... and well, every song they've done... A Perfect Circle - Pet, Gravity, Blue, Weak and Powerless

metallicas my friend of misery is a killer line, and anesteisa pulling teeth is a classic
