Im 21 and my doc said I have lyme disease and my family doesnt believe it even though the results came back positive. Does anyone else have this or know someone that does?

i dont, but if you google it and look around on some of the links and check them out most them will offer support lines amd support groups

Yea Ive done that and seen a lot of stuff.. but Id still like to know a little more about it, cuz I keep reading the same thing over and over.

It's really not that bad if you think about it, it should go away, I mean at least it isnt cancer.

Bad stuff: it can come back and really make you ache long after you've forgotten about it. Lotsa symptoms.

it doesnt just go away and even once your treated for it the bacteria is hard to kill so you basically have it for the rest of your life its just up to your body to fight it off.. and you always feel ****ty

I had tick fever about two years ago. I had to take antibiotics for it. It bothered me for a couple of months.

My daughter in law had what you have; and she was hospitalized for it for about two weeks. Her skin peeled off all over. She had brown spots everywhere. Tender and sore. It was even affecting her fingernails.

I hope if that's what you have, they are taking care of it right.

Oh...she was told that she would have it for the rest of her life. She is doing fine now. But, it is my understandign that the symptoms can come back.

I could not believe the way her skin was.

can cause problems with the heart and nerves.. on some of the links you should be able to contact them some should even offer a number and you should be able to talk to someone and get more answers

my dad had it and they will give shots and all will be ok it is from a wood tick if you want i can find out what they gave him and how long it took to get rid of it

i have panic attacks all the time from it an i was taking anti biotics for it but it was affecting my liver so i have to wait.. but the panic attacks were slowly going away.. i cant even go to the store without having one, and i have a 10 month old daughter and it just makes it hard to want to get up an do anything

i thought it was caused by a deer tick, atleast thats what i just read.. but is there more then one kind of tick that can cause it?

yea a few different ticks have it but its also in seman and saliva so i dunno if you can catch it that way or not

if myy dad was not sleeping i would call him he would tell me should i wake him up

It is a deer tick. My daughter in law was treated with massive doses of antibiotics. IV fluids. Her illness was relatively new. I cannot imagine what would have happened to her if she had not been treated immediately.
