I read tarot cards as well but to me this thread seems a little flakey. Sorry if my opinion offends, but I couldn't help but think of the many tarot card websites that plague the internet nowadays which are so very flakey.

By the way, what tarot deck do you use? Personally I like using The Sacred Circle Tarot deck. But I've also been known to use The Rider-Waite Tarot deck, not the Universial Waite Tarot.

I met a woman who used a deck of playing cards. She had some writting or maybe, more properly, lines and drawings on some of the cards. I'm not sure why, but sometimes she used a clean deck. We spoke briefly, I asked her about the cards. She began to give a history of the "cards" and that playing cards were actually just a version of tarot cards. They were used as playing cards at some point, because it was unlawful to have tarot cards.

I remember that much, because I thought it was interesting.

Does any of that ring true?

Tarot cards began as a card game in Europe (specifically around Italy) around the 14th century. When the cards started being used for divination is actually unclear. As for it being unlawful for them to be used for divination is news to me. I guess it could be true... I don't know, though.

frown Did I hit on a sensitive spot? ohwell I am entitled to my opinion, aren't I, even if it's not a popular one? huh It seems flakey to me because I seriously don't believe one can get an accurate reading for another person online... unless you've invested a significant amount of time conversing with the other person... you know really making a connection. I spend a lot of time grounding myself before I even begin a tarot reading. Then I spend time meditating on the person that's going to be read. Then I spend time meditating and asking the cards the specific question (if any) that the person may have. It's a process that I personally am very meticulous and methodical about. Also, I take tarot more seriously than to just flip some cards just because I'm bored. But to each their own. Have fun doing tarot your way as I will doing it my own way.

You hit a spot, I just happen to get back from the hospital that night from going to find out my sister in law was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident, that is y I sound like I was bothered.
You have all right in the world to speak what you feel.
I really didn't want to hit it off with you this way, so pardon me and my words on last post.
And I try to do DLR's so that is why I was doing it over the net.
As far as just flipping and being bored, well, that is just the way I talk, I do actually have more respect for my Divination tool.
Have a Blessed Eveningflowerforyou

Bright Blessings
