there were 2, both for my daughter...i was 17 (just before 18th bday) found out i was pregnant just graduated. my family had all set to go to law school, was given the choice, abortion and degree or have the baby and be on my own...well we know which choice i made, no regrets!!!

2nd - my daughter needed new instruments, i sold all my diamonds, gold, jewelry to buy them for her. she was so upset when she found out what i did and cried. i didnt tell her, my sister did. id do it again in a heart beat.

props to youflowerforyou As for me, I moved in with my grandpa and I'm helping taking care of him because my mom is under a lot of stress from her buissness. I made life easier for her because she, well, she raised me and put up with all my B.S. growing up.

that is awesome. i lived in florida and twice gave up my home and job to go back north to care for family. once my father at home dying of cancer with help of hospice and once my mother who was in a wheel chair and very ill. again...no regrets...we do what we have to do, thats life.

I don't know if this counts, I am a Full time momma. Taking care of 4 boys; ages 14 (turning 15 next month), 12, 10, 10 going to college full time, paying rent, bills, truck payment, insurance, and have a little spending money left for the kids and myself. I give a lot of time to friends and family.

It says something in the bible about;
No greater Sacrifice, than a man to lay down his life for his friends.

It goes something like that anyways. I think that was the GREATEST SACRIFICE ever told. Amen!
flowerforyou :heart: :wink: happy

I sacrificed the custody of my children to join the Army...
I wanted a better future and to give them a life that they will never go without..I could not be a welfare mother it's not fair to my children..I do have them in the summers and see them on holidays, but they know that mommy is a soldier and is protecting our country and they are proud of me...

Not sure whether I have ever sacrificed anything in my life....for with every choice has come some wonderful gifts and lessons in exchange...So to say that I raised my children on my own...sacrifice....no...my goodness I was blessed with 2 awesome sons...Have I given things up in my life to gain other things...absolutely..But for me it doesn't seem as much a sacrifice as a giftflowerforyou

I donated a kidney to a total stranger. I was a complete match, so it was just the right thing to do.

OK, that's a lie. But it sounded good for a while, didn't it? laugh

Truthfully, though.......I am a nurse, so pretty much my whole professional life has been dedicated to the health/wellbeing of others. I wouldn't have had it any other way, though.
