Hey guys just something to talk about and to figure out. I have a baby Pac Man Frog and he doesent seem to want to eat anything. I took some dead goldfish and put them in warm water and attempted to feed them to him with tongs it dident work. He started breathing hard though showing me he was scared. He has only been in there like 3-4 days. Maybe he needs more time?

I think he was trying to intimidate you with the breathing! they will also puff up and scream when they feel threatened. but I would try some fuzzies or maybe some pinkies beacuse they will eat mice! good luck wit your frogdrinker

I once had a salamander who enjoyed freeze dried worms. I just put some in water and he dug 'em.

I found him in our crawlspace. I was just a kid and only kept him for a short time. There was lots of dirt and mud in his environment, but I set him free when he started looking unhappy.

Make sure he has plenty of substrate to bury himself. You can try crickets, the small moving insects might get his attention better without scaring. Make sure that his enclosure is hot and wet enough. Check to see if he makes little snot bubbles when he breaths. He should have eaten by now, so you are going to have to work to get him healthy.

There are drops you put in the water. He needs those en an oxygen tube in the water. Start with guppies.

Yea thats what ima do. The tank is rather cold though. Thats the stange thing about this though the water is pretty cold but he still prefers it. There is a heat rock in there with him also. He stays away from it though. He knows it's giving off heat he just doesent care he rather be in the freezing water. Im going to get a new bulb (Fluorescent) and raise the temp the bulb in there now is made for watching fish.

Also about the tank the people told me there that a Pac-Man frog would live a fine healthy life in a 10 gallon tank and i dident have one so i just put him in my 20 gallon. He has that soft mulchy stuff he can burrow in and a big pool the water is shallow enough for him to walk in and there is a stepping stool for him to get in and out....(Hes still learing that part.) lol

something else you might want to consider is to cave the lid with some clear plastic to keep the heat and moisture in to raise the humidity. just cut a hole in the plastic about a half inch larger than the light to let it breathe and try that!

Well the thing that's over the top now only has 3 small holes if i get the right kinda bulb then i can probaly get it to about 80 degrees. Which they prefer about 72-82 degrees. I already know alot about them. I just wanted a few pointers. Hes also pretty small i would say hes about 2-3 inchs long & uhh i know this sounds funny but the size of a gulf ball.

Frugert is a cute name and I love that you are so loving towards him and concerned about his well-being. Everyone should be a good pet owner like you!

Get rid of the heat rock and get an under the tank heater. You need to get some bushy fake plants. The little guy will want someplace to hide. Never ever use heat rocks, not even with a desert reptile like a Bearded Dragon. The rocks have a tendency to have hot spots, which can burn your herpiles. Heat lamps (ceramic) and/or undertank heaters should be used. I think a heat lamp wouldn't be great for the little guy unless you use a small one. Amphibians need a general temperature, rather than a single hot spot. You might want to get two ceramic heaters and a UV light. One trick that works really well is to buy your lamps and florescent fixtures from Home Depot or the like. This allows you to save a lot of money, then buy the bulbs online to save on them too. My desert tank cost around $60, I used playground sand, a huge rubbermade container, a lamp with a 100 watt bulb and a 2' dual bulb florescent fixture and a 2' PVC pipe as a house. The only thing I had to buy from a pet store was the lizard (picked him up at a reptile show) and an undertank heater. My Uromastix was bright gold on his back and very happy for years until a very bad cat got him before he could get back into his PVC pipe home.
