Ok Lex, how do you know if your being scammed???????

Basically, it has to do with what they put in the note and how they say it. It's almost always in really bad English (because I think they tend to come from Russia) -- there are specific things to look for, such as -- instead of saying "I would like to meet you," they always say "I will like to meet you." They can't get the phraseology quite right. That "would-will" error is always a dead giveaway.

Then, if you look at their profiles, there's never anything in them -- it's sort of like all of the profiles of the people I see here in my new Mutual Match options, except the people on the scammer sites don't use cat pictures.

Their locations tend to be a foreign city name with a US state, like "Omsk, Virginia." Maybe there is an Omsk, Virginia, but I'm skeptical.

Another thing is that their letters ALWAYS prove that they never read my profile. So how could they be madly in love with me without even reading my profile? I mean, OK, if they actually did READ it, then I could understand.

But when they write and say "I will like to many babys have of you" I know they ain't paying attention....!

I have been on a couple none of the ones mentioned here and they were really lame compared to this site. I don't know about the others mentioned here.

I love it when they talk about 'what we have built together', and how 'important to them' you are, when you done not much more than say hi to them! last one I had said he was 45, and when I asked for pics, he sent me some of a 20 yr old. Then said he wanted to stay in the area, but needed capital for his business....They are usually easy to spot.

Oh yeah, I forgot about "what we have built together"!! That's another good one!

I had a few, on one site, who sent me pictures of Hilary Duff from "Cheaper by the Dozen," claiming that was them. Some of the pics even had Steve Martinovich in the background.

Thats what you find on a lot of the sites. Can get a date pretty easy on some, but they turn out to be real jerks

Yeah, I was on there as a paying member for 3 months last year -- got contacted by 174 of their people, mainly locals, most of whom wanted to meet me at a nearby bar. It said, right in my profile, I don't drink, and I don't go to bars. Read the damn profile before you write me a note, already!

Of the 174, 170 were immediately eliminated as prospects as soon as I read their letters or looked at their profiles. The other 4 took a few days to dispose of. Talk about a waste of time!

I go to true.com too but thats not free its super mega amount of money. But one thing puzzles me at that site. I get winks from 18 your olds. That say they are looking for 18 to 19 your olds. Yet they wink at me.. Really makes me wonder. If the winking is just being done by the site and not the person.
