i went to sydney to grab a second hand Google Wifi for cheap -- i used a guide to get root (read SSH) access and installed OpenWRT on the device.
At least now i have full control (includ web admin) as opposed to being limited to a featureless mobile app. yay! https://openwrt.org/toh/google/wifi |

Been tinkering with it past day and it is optimal now. Feel better that i got a cheap Wifi 6 AP and dont have to worry about privacy concerns with the G.
