I am a 66 years old senior that has been retired for 8 years. Since January 2024, I have started travelling solo. I sold my house, donated all my possesions except for two suitcases, and started travelling full time.

Since January, I have travelled Mexico for 60 days, backpacked the Camino Portugese, and currently travelling Ecuador for 60 days.

The language barrier and loneliness continues to be my greatest challenges and gifts. I have managed to learn enough Spanish in two months to get by. Loneliness has helped me do a lot of soul searching. The journey is ongoing.

I feel that I will most probably settle down again somewhere in the future, but not in the United States. I will periodically visit my son in the US between my trips, but that's about it for now.

I can see myself with a younger woman who I am very much attracted to and shares my interests.

I would like to connect with you if you would like yo share.

Honestly what you are telling does not sound quite right to me: having been traveling abroad for many days, and yet not being able to find the woman you're looking for!

That would be true if you are looking for any woman, but that is not my case. My journey is more than searching for a woman, Farid.

How about you? Would you mind sharing about your journey and experiences.

Well; reading your first post, my feeling is that something does not add up if over 5 or 6 months of journeys to three countries, you have not been able to find one single suitable woman.
As for me, I wish I could do some traveling looking for my fair lady.

Farid, there are plenty of women out there, but not the one I am looking for. Most Latin America women within the age range I am looking for are divorced and have minor children. I am not looking to adopt a new family as part of my retirement life. And I am not looking for a casual relationship. Hence the wait.

Again, my journey is not to look for romance. It is about what life has to offer at this stage snd the challenges and opportunities people in my age group travelling solo are facing. What has been your experience in these aspects?
