Hey Abra,

If the streets of heaven are paved with gold, wouldn't that be a little um, heavy? to stay up above the earth? Just curious...

The moon stays up above the earth with no problem. And so does the sun.

A few streets of gold shouldn't be a problem.

With God all things are possible.

All we have to do is believe and we can have streets of gold too.

Except they would be terrible to drive on, especially in the rain!

SLIPPERY! laugh

Yeah funches, Jesus apparently knew he had a mission. Just seems to me your blaming him for the wrong stuff.

If the earth were to be flooded completely; wouldn't it stand to reason that there would be no reason for steering? There was no place to go? Water everywhere.

As for the animals, there were not as many as there is now. It also says I think that there were actually more than two of each. More like a few. They had to eat.

As for cleaning up animal crap. So what? I have owned many horses, worked for horse ranches. Poop cleanup is a constant. (if one wants healthy horses and a clean environment.) Only it wasn't as easy as throwing it overboard. We had to rake it, sift it, carry it, pile it up. Then seemingly start all over again.

Same when we raised pigs. Yuk....talk about cruddy cleanup.

Abra, when you say "Christians" and lump us all together like that, it isn't right. We do not all TRY and convert. We only try to tell our beliefs.

Lumpy bumpy labels. laugh

Sorry about that Kat. I know that everyone one who calls themselves a “Christian” doesn’t use the term to mean the same thing. I could even call myself a “Christian” by some people’s meaning of the term. I certainly have what many people would consider to be “Christian morals”. And for many, that’s the bottom line. After all, the original religion does seem to be focused on behavior. If all God is concerned about is good behavior then I’m in the “game”.

Most of my friends and relatives are Christians, and I guarantee that they aren’t as bad as I make Christianity out to sound. There are good Christians, just as there are good atheists.

It’s the fundamentalist approach to Christianity that I loathe. The idea of worshiping a book verbatim but completely missing the spirit of it’s message.

How we believe in our creator is unimportant. What’s important is how we treat each other, how we treat other living creatures, and how we treat our very planet itself. These are the things that are ultimately important.

Some people have claimed that I’m not very nice because I poke holes in their balloons. But Jesus poked holes in the balloons of the Pharisees and even knocked over their money tables (tsk tsk!). At least I don’t get physically violent like that. I would have turned the other cheek.

Abraaaaaa.........flowerforyou flowerforyou

I knew you weren't talking about me, but it felt like lumping us all together. As you know...I am not even sure what to call myself.

You just keep living right. Being yourself. I love ya that way.

I don’t know about people, but tithes were originally taxes charged by the churches.

A tithe is one-tenth of what you you’re worth.

It's no wonder that everyone wanted to claim they are unworthy! laugh

Nobody's given a set idea of exactly what delusional is yet or did I miss that 100 and some odd post?

I guess Noah didn’t need to worry about a propulsion or steering system.

with all the anmals noah had on the ark, the method in "scttrbrain"'s avatar showing fire shooting out someone's azz is exactly how noah probably steered that ark

If the earth were to be flooded completely; wouldn't it stand to reason that there would be no reason for steering? There was no place to go? Water everywhere.

check out the movie waterworld they were in the same situation and had plenty of reasons to steer that boat

As for the animals, there were not as many as there is now. It also says I think that there were actually more than two of each. More like a few. They had to eat.

which just shows all of it couldn't fit on two arks..unless there was a time-displacement generator in one of them

Then seemingly start all over again.

you only had horses..noah and the rest of the dung shovellers had to shovel rhino and elephant sh_t ..

Same when we raised pigs. Yuk....talk about cruddy cleanup.

and water buffalo and yak and oxen and giraff and have you ever seen how hippos splash sh_t around ...no way noah could have survive in an enclosed area like the ark
