my daughter has SEVERE eczema...and our regimen for her is as follows:

heavy-duty lotion throughout the day, each and every time she washes her hands. eucerin cream works well for this.

at night, we use bag balm...slather the hands down and cover with socks overnight. makes a HUGE difference.

when skin distress is at a peak, we treat with elidel.

I've got it bad. I'm genetically predisposed to dry skin (thanks dad) and I work in a warehousefull of huge dusty cardboard boxes. I lotion up as much as I can, but I could do better. When they crack badly, I use bandaids with a bit of neosporin on them. This works to heal up most of it in less than a day.
I amy have to try more vitamin E

I need to take more vitamins, I am just not getting enough I guess.. or rather lack there of vitamins. Which could very well be my biggest problem.

Yeah I try the bandaids and neosporin but that only works for a little bit then when the bandairds get wet and then they come right off.

One time I've tired vitamin E gel from like GNC, it was okay but I wasn't sure if it even wored or not.

i'm a retired swimmer - and i work in labs that use acetone to clean stuff... vasaline works wonders for cracked skin at night. if you prefer to use lotions try using one that is more of an oil, it stays on the skin longer. johnson and johnson put out a great one.

first thing we tried with jordan was vaseline. no effect. went to slathering crisco on her head to toe...a BIT better, but not enough.

went to eucerin cream...still wasn't completely cutting it. kiddo was cracked and bleeding head to toe. literally. infections setting in...yeah...
