Hello everyone. I'm Cheryl and I reside in a regional town in South Australia. I'm 47 years old and call myself mum to 2 beautiful pets- an elderly dog with special needs and a 3 year old cat- both are happy pets who pass all veterinary inspections- they are my children. I'm a social drinker- love my red wine and beer but don't do it often these days. I'm on a pension but start studying women's advocacy in January 2022. Also learning to groom dogs which will benefit my own animals; future own dogs plus in 2022/2023 I will start fostering dogs for an animal shelter/rescue as it gives an animal a second chance at happiness and a new start at life. Telling you all so you all know what i'm about. A couple of animal shelters in SA have already expressed interest in having me on board as a foster carer for shelter dogs- I have a good resume in animals with special needs and nothing phases me- I do it due to being a decent person. Thankfully pensioners are allowed to study.

Some of my interests include: cooking; reading; my pets; gardening; dvds/movies; outdoorsy stuff(don't mind being covered in dirt;grease; mud or slime etc); animal welfare issues; women's rights ; going out to different places and the list goes on.

I'm a colourful larger than life personality who thrives on peacefulness but at the same time copes well with chaos and controversy- I have a thick skin/hide and wear a huge smile on my face. My laughter is never ending and I have an amazing sense of humour. Some of my best qualities are integrity; sense of humour & mischief; caring; reliability; trustworthy and straight out when I speak meaning if I don't like you then you will know right from the start. I'm loyal to a person's face and behind a person's back. My hates are liars and cheats- I say let the one who lies to you go and go find someone who does want you and who isn't being indecisive.

I deactivated my account and reactivated it over the last couple of days and then I reactivated it for good this morning. I've been genuine about finding myself a long term relationship for ages now. I will now focus on new beginnings and will focus on finding somebody nice for myself who does want me and is prepared to do the right thing. Once I meet someone and I start seeing them exclusively then I will allow them to cancel my membership on this site but not until then.

A relationship to me should be based on humour; happiness and effective communication. Other people's opinions shouldn't come into it. A person's past or criminal convictions shouldn't come into it or be dwelled on either or shoved in their face repeatedly as that's not the sign of a happy, healthy relationship. Ok so you may not always agree with the other person but you need to be able to agree to disagree. I've never wanted perfection in a relationship as everyone has their faults and flaws including me but I hate liars; two faced people and cheats. My point is I couldn't give a toss on someone's criminal convictions as long as they have learned from them. I don't have a criminal record myself but I'm willing to provide a national police clearance; my general probity and my working with children's check and vulnerable groups check should anyone I date ever request it. I don't hide anything from anyone I date etc.

What I can offer someone in a relationship is a lifetime of smiles and laughter and a partner who will back them up 100% meaning I will weather all storms and still be there at the end of it. I look forward to being a member of this site.
