An interesting conversation came about between me and my 14 year old sons last night while traveling to family's house for Christmas celebrations.

The conversation including the topic of what we 'know'. Interestingly enough, of course, I assumed the 'role' of the wise one... Hah!!!

The conversation took a turn after it had been established that, in fact, all we really 'know' is what we have accepted as truth, and even then, it in fact may or may not be true. While I was questioning my son(s) in regards to this, the sub-topic of whether or not we 'know' that we are alive also came up... And I asked him...

'Well, how do you know that you are even alive? I mean what if life is just a dream of some sort... what if it all is some type of dream."

My other son says, 'Yeah, God's dream...' and kinda chuckles after the joke...

To which the other, after little hesitation or contemplation, speaks up very clearly and quite confidently...and he says with a considerable conviction...





" Dad, you have to have life in order to dream.'
