No doubt it can be a deterrent if they are being deployed soon. On that one I basically just keep in touch with them while they're over seas as a friend. Its not that I have any issues with them being IN the army, but you hear so many stories about guys who go over seas and leave their woman while they're there. If it were meant to be with said person it could wait til they got back. I find someone in the military actually quite interesting, its a very brave job to have these days. I'm a patient person, if it turned out that my 'one' were a military guy I wouldn't let it matter.
