Ok - so let's get real discussion going here.

So I'm at a club, playing some pool, checking things out, having a drink - what do I say to a butch that's hitting on me?

I'm about 5'4 about 130lbs - well you can see photo. I lift weights, but hey, I like pink, I can do pink, but I'm not a femm. I'm looking for femms or a very soft-butch. Not into butches for myself -

So tell me - what do I say (politely) to this butch, dudess?

Ok - I have another question.

How many of you are OUT with your work place? I have several friends who are specially marked on my email because I have to be careful what I send them at work. They fear being fired if found out.

Just wondering how widespread this issue really is.

Do they really fear being -fired-, or do they just fear all kinds of other problems interfering with their work relationships? And what part of the country are they in? In California, i have the impression (from talking to HR people) that most employers are -very- careful about firing minorities and homosexuals, due to equal opportunite laws.

Just to be clear, I'm -not- questioning whether there are issue of bigotry that would cause problems in the workplace - I know there are. I'm just curious about the specific circumstances in which gays fear for being fired, i thought that was mostly behind us, as a civilization (he he).

Hi Massage,
Nice to see you. I'm in the midwest, Indiana to be exact. California has state laws that we don't have. Unless you are part of those 'exceptions' under the 'federal code' of the Civil Rights act, a person can and IS fired for their sexual orientation.
It doesn't stop there either, I have had friends descriminated against by housing complexes and as customers in places of business.
Not a dam n thing we can do about it either. So in my circle of friends we KNOW who is OUT and who is just out. It has to be that way and it has led to break-ups by partners who feel they aren't as important as a job. But the truth is, sometimes a livlihood is a life long dream, and took a lot of effort, cash and school to achieve it. How can one be happy with one dream when the other is required to keep it alive.

I wonder if anyone else has had any similiar experiences?

California has alway been a for-runner in policy, but it takes a long time to get cross country through federal interaction.

Thanks Red, I didn't kow it was like that in Indiana. I'm guessing you frequent GLB etc websites? Do people see california as a 'better place' because of these laws?
