Did it never occur to you to fight the Sudanese forces which are commiting these acts? I see no reason not to remove them, the inner Sudanese resistance is already fighting & the UN has aprooved the resolution for nations to send troops & assistance to the cause. It's not about winning or losing, it's about ending the genocide. There is ALOT of things that can be done;^]

That might work I don't know. I know that the situation over there is very complicated and for what I know my position is one of non interference.

That was the policy in WW2 also, and look what happened, same policy on Rwanda & look what happened. Action is needed pronto before it gets worse than it already is, unfortunatly it's an african nation full of black people so our government doesn't care;^[

Listen, supposedly we are making progress. The media isn't even talking about it much anymore because the surge is actually helping. I know this from friends of mine that are operating at ground zero. I agree with you on the fact that a country needs to stand on its own two feet. We will have to give them back their country to let them do whatever they want with it. There is the political fear behind doing this too early. Most of the insurgeants we fought were actually from Iran/Syria. These are both terrorist-run countries. I can tell you from first hand experience that they are targeting other iraqis more than they are americans. There are two reasons for this... Americans put up a bigger fight, and most importantly they want to scare or discourage the iraqis from this new government. They want the country to be in chaos. One of our missions when i was over there was to train/oversee the new Iraqi Army. More and more they are taking over our operations there. There is progress. However, if we pull out too soon you know and i know there will be massive clan wars and lots of chaos. And if you think about it you will come to realize that the winners of this conflict will be those supported by Iran/Syria. The winners will obviously take over the country making these organizations much more powerful in numbers and finances. Not to mention after they rejoice at their great victory over the U.S. god knows how many more people will join being reinforced by the idea that they are more powerful than America. Strategy-wise this is a very strong possibility. Much stronger terrorist force + still unsecured borders = a potential for disaster, i.e. another possible 9/11. Maybe im thinking too far ahead? We do however, have our own extremists to deal with which is why i thank god our forefathers have in our constitution the separation of church and state.

Another thing is, that if we pull this off, Iraq will be an ally again. This gives us an advantage if we ever get attacked again. We will already have troops in the middle east (yes chances are we would have a permanent base there just like we do in Kuwait). Not to mention we would have shown them that we are not weak, that we too have resolve. Unfortunately our resolve as a country is something we haven't shown since WW2.

I don't really know how i sound but try to believe (anyone who is reading this) that i am not some bloodthirsty "pawn" who just follows orders but believes in the slaughter and torture of innocents. I don't believe in torture. Yes in certain EXTREME cases i know you gotta do what you gotta do. I just get heated up over this subject as i have fought in this conflict and lost friends. Not to mention having actually been under fire myself i tend to look at some situations as kill-or-be-killed. Bu once again i am not a pawn. I didn't just follow orders. I fought along side of me fellow brothers and poured my heart and soul into ensuring their survival as well as my own. Just like anyone else who fought over there. Just so you know, the reason we can't leave isn't just for the iraqis, its for us too.
