My old man is the head mantinance superviser at a cardboard box factory. I wish he was retired, that place & all the stress from it are sure to be the death of him, all seven days a week of it;^[

In the services and smoking and drinking...well they go hand in hand...it gets pretty lonely sometimes in a uniform....miles from family and friends

My Dad is a computer technichian/programmer at the University here. I don't wish that he'd have to do anything else -- I think he's happy with what he does. If I had to wish anything it's that he didn't have to work all the time. :P

Better he works all the time, then him in a place where you cant ever see him again...get you to kinda thinking that he is a jewel...love him every single minuteflowerforyou

My father was an AT&T Supervisor for 45 years. He's now 87 with Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. He's a shell of the man who adopted my twin brother and I at 6 years old, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. He's the best man, and was the best father.

I wished he were an airline pilot though. Then he could take us anywhere we wanted. Ok, he still did.

My thinking on this subject is to respect your dad what ever kind of work he is in, I lost my Dad and Grandad years before there normal life span was up, But its the work they lived for and died for.....also my work, guess I was lucky.

Would like to add....They both smoked but that was not why they died.

My Dad was a Superhero! Actually, he made his living as a wholesale jeweler. Oh, how I miss him!

My dad was an electrician on the New York Central RR (now known as MetroNorth). He died of terminal cancer in 1983.

I WISH HE WAS SILL HERE.

My father was a pharmaceutical compounder. I hated that he worked midnights, and on top of that a ton of overtime.

Now that I have my own family, I knew he did it to give us what we wanted and needed.

My Dad was a grant writer for the poor. Always trying to help the less fortunate.

He passed in 91 and I still try being like him..everyday of my life.
