I have an HP Deskjet printer set up through a wireless network and my problem is that whilst it will print from my notes on my mobile devices, it won't print from the internet. The reason being is that I have to go into wifi settings on my devices and select the printer but when I do that the wifi is consequently diverted from my devices to the printer. This means that I can't print anything off the internet because I can't use both the wifi and printer at the same time. So basically what I'm asking is how can I print using wifi and NOT the printer network?

The HP Support website is not user friendly and I can't find an answer to my problem there. Is there a way round this? Any hints or solutions would be most welcome happy

Hello , what I did was delete all files for the printer, then went on the HP website and put in the model No. Downloaded the files for the printer just for wi fi let it all set up then mine seemed to work ok . Hope it helps you . Tony x

I am using Cloud Print. Okay, it's a Google app, but works fine.

I have already done that. I have a new router which I had to connect the printer to so it's just been set up as a new printer. That's when I noticed the problem.

Thank you for responding happy

Hope you find it there. It is a Google App. But there should be something similar for Apple products.

I downloaded the app but I have the same problem. Couldn't figure out why Cloud Print couldn't find my printer then realised that I had to change my wifi settings to select the printer. Once I did that, the app found my printer but I can't proceed further because I need to use both wifi and printer at the same time to continue in the app. At the moment, I can only have one or the other, NOT both at the same time.

Argh!!!!!!

Failing that. Do what they did with the 100million dollar jet we've just purchased from America, turn it off then turn it back on laugh

Sometimes I don't know how I get the printer to work I press so many buttons laugh

Mikey, I did switch it on and off and even uninstalled it then reinstalled the damn thing. Then I remembered, it's not a fighter jet but a bloody printer laugh

I think the problem is the printer is not set up on my home network but is set up on the printer's own network. I have the HP App but after a certain point, the HP app is supposed to ask which network I want to select but it doesn't or won't. Just can't get past that stage and it's driving me mad now grumble

Not sure now. My printer is from HP as well. Before I first used that yoke, I paired it with my own WIFI network. I was never asked for any other options.

I think, you have to go into the printer's settings, and set your home wifi as "default", a good friend of mine also recommended this video clip
