First Snowfall

The bitterness of the pale breeze
the slippery wet pond began to freeze
milky white satin covers the ground
icicles illuminate sparkling in sound

dreamy palette of color grey
let all of the children begin to play
dancing and making angels sigh
family gathers to hear rain cry

having the first snowfall
has made everyone begin to call
joyous in laughter of memories
looking at the Christmas trees

reflections of lights and smiles
firewood and pine cone piles
we all love to see such a sight
especially the first snowfall night.
