I've got big plans to go get my flu shot

Ouch... but a good plan!

I can't afford to get sick and I don't want to bring anything home to parents.
Last two I got, I was sick for a few days but not down and out but it's suppose to be really bad this year, so I'll deal with it

I got the flu last year a couple of times, the last one was pretty bad. It's smart to get one, especially when you're around those who are more susceptible. I don't have insurance, but I think Walmart has a discount plan, so I might get one this year, if it doesn't cost too much.

Got my flu shot... it was $35 river but other places might be cheaper...I try and support small individual owned businesses when I can and the small pharmacy just down the street is owned and ran by a really great hardworking couple that are always friendly and helpful.
Now taking a few minutes before I go in and finish cooking for me

That's pretty reasonable, and nice that you do that. I'm not familiar enough with the area to know which ones are Mom and Pop shops. I'll probably just go to the community health center.

I staunchly refuse the flu shot. For some reason, I never get the flu anyway, even if people are sneezing and coughing around me like eejits.

Good memories. My grandma did not bake at all! We had to have the ycuky stella doro cookies. To this day I can't stand them!

River... ugh carbs don't get me started have you tried the cauliflower rice? It smells a bit strong when you cook it but I love the taste and I don't feel cheated, like with some substitutes

I always search out the small businesses, it gives me a sense of community . Not to mention the great service and I enjoy talking to people
