Topic: Country where you’re from..does it matter?? | |

Why is it that apart from getting messages that says “hey sweetie” or “hey babe” which is yuck coming from a person you haven’t met it’s also the random messages that ask “ which country where you’re from” I mean whatever happens to conversation etiquette of asking a person how they are, what are their experiences on these site, what are their passions in life there are so many things to talk about, I just find it so off putting if the first question is which country “where you’re from” the question is just so broad like you can be from Asia but born and raised in Australia or middle Eastern but born and raised in America and so on... one message I replied I come from hell. Btw any thoughts... I may be the one who often asked "Where are you from ?" Ever since I joined Mingle2, I kept asking that not knowingly it is rude for several months. The probability of getting messages back from the woman I sent "where are you from" message is extremely low. I wondered why? It turned out that my message is rude, period. I did not ask such a question anymore, having replies steadily increased. The reason I asked, in the first places, is that place of living on profile is often wrong whether it is intentional or not. There are gold trade scammers who intentionally set their address to Seoul, so that they lure males into scam. I say 1) Don't ask a rude question, 2) When you encounter a possible rip-off. |

I am still living in Ireland, I was born in Germany. And I still don't like being called 'handsome' by random people
