I have a story that I was told by a cop friend today. Just a couple blocks from where I work, this lady had 50 cats in a small 900 sqft house. She died this past summer, but no one knew cause she was running the air conditioner. by the time they found her, her cats had eaten her, cause they had grown hungry!

THAT IS TOO MANY FREAKIN ANIMALS!!!

i don't see a problem unless they consume all your money in taking care of them.

Personaly i have 3 cats and 2 dogs in my house right now. The food bill for the little buggers gets pretty high, and cleaning up the messes gets a little...aggrivating over a period of time. But they are all so cute ^_^

there is a limit to when you should say, can i provide for all these animals? Do i have enough space for them? If you have the space, and can provide, then go nuts. personaly though, i could be happy with just one cat, 2 cats belong to my brothers fiance and one dog. The other dog is my brothers. I claimed a kitty for myself.

I have two dogs and they get to be too much sometimes, they are both larger dogs and they eat like pigs!

it really depends on your finances.. if you can afford 2 cats and 3 dogs.. that's great.

but people who have over 10 pets should just stop.. unless it's fish bc they're not that hard to take care of..

As for the original question, I think there must be a practical limit on how many pets any one person can manage, but I once had a gf who had dogs, cats, lizards, fish, some sort of huge bird, and a giant snake, and she loved them.

I think if you can take care of them, then the number isn't really important....

My pet names are (cats) Kit,Shadow,Nikki,Leo and Bob (2 of which i bought and the other 3, 2 were gifts and one was abandoned)(dogs) Honey,Grace(we call her Crazy Grace, she was a rescue) and Chunk De Aristotle(my expensive dog) (rats) Pinky and Brain, (snake) George and the fish name is Fred (my friend Has Barney lol)

That is true, as long as you can afford to feed them and keep them clean, that is all that counts. I have 1 dog and 1 cat and that is plenty for me right now.

my cats are Freddy(the one i claimed hehe.) Ralph and max. (dont know why, but we always give our cats people names.) Dogs, Bulldog is buddy,(or Goobahs when he is acting up.) And the Papillon is Sunny.

as long as you can tend to them... then I dont see why you cant have as many as you want
