I'm straight.

I have a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment that I live in alone. Currently one room is my bedroom and the other is an office and weight room. I could effectively combine these two rooms into the master bedroom. This would cut my bills in half.

My top prospect for a roommate is someone I work with. He's homosexual. He works hard, is trustworthy, neat, and wears make-up. He is single and we are looking for similar traits in a home. He knows I'm 100% heterosexual.

I'm comfortable with the situation and think it would be a good fit because he is a good person. Are there things that come with living with a gay man as a straight man that I should know about before making this commitment?

I don't think there should be a problem as long as he isn't attracted to you in any way. GL!

what would you think if he brought someone over for a "nightcap"

i'd say who cares if he's gay or not, as long as he pays his bills it doesn't matter.

just make sure you lock the bathroom door and buy a soap on a rope

I'm comfortable with the situation and think it would be a good fit because he is a good person. Agree/Disagree?

Do I agree that he is a good person?

or
Do I agree that you are comfortable?

Ah....No

To that I say to each their own - as long as nobody is getting out of control with the noises. i'm fairly understanding of his sexuality. and sex is sex. and romance is romance. whichever sex he wants to have it with.

Don't be surprised at him kissing other dudes on the couch in front of you let alone being freaked out by him bringing home other guys(but then again,i'm sure you're comfortable with that).as long as he knows the boundaries that are set between you two(no kissing,etc..),then do it!!

should i care that more people will probably think i'm gay? or should i do what all of you are going to tell me and say "i don't care what other people think about me"?

that's the problem alot of us have faced, "gay by association". you listed plently of reasons why you should accept this guy as your roommate. it's not like you'll start hanging out at the gay bars or anything. think of it as having a gay cousin or brother living with you.

what made him better than the other candidates anyway?

honestly man, I wouldnt care what people thought...It's hard to get a roomate you get-along with. me personally i would rather have a roomate i get a long with than anything; dosnt matter gay, strait, whatever. A good roomate is a good roomate

as i've never been a straight male, it's a bit harder for me to answer...

i, personally, would go for it. in a heartbeat...many of the relationships that i have made with homosexual people are much more open and honest than any others...

and i could give a rat's rear what anyone thinks of me.

worst i could see happening is his b/f gets jealous of you
best thing is at least he will know if your clothes match
its not that hard to do i had a gay roommate for some time.
and the women that would come over and hang out with him were hot.

couldn't help it, i checked out your profile & pics and if i were your roommate, i'd go after you. but seriously, it doesn't mean he'll fall for you.
