Looking at my inbox I realised that a contact and messages that we exchanged only a few hours ago are gone. I did not block, nor deleted the contact. Why did this happen?

Yes, when scammers are deleted, most of their content (including in your inbox and who viewed you) disappears. You were SAVED by the site police, be happy!
