Once I sought love, pure and true
Only to find that its been distorted by time
Once I sought God, pure and true
Only to find he too has been distorted by time
Once I sought humanity, pure and true
Only to find that we have distorted ourselves by time
I've searched the heavens far and wide
I've searched the oceans vast and deep
I've searched the mountains every peak and valley
I've searched all the lands known to man
Weary now I rest my feet and soul upon the shores of time
Waiting and contemplating the reality of me
Shredding all of my fantasies
Discarding all of my dreams
All that I have sought, my eyes so blind by distortion
And as I wait I claw the webs of distortion from my eyes
Stepping outside of myself I see now it was I who was distorted
Falling to my knees wracked with pain and tears
In between the sobbing and screaming words fell from the sky
Upon my ears they fell and God spoke to me
My child so distorted and deluded,wipe your tears , rise again
Everything you have sought has been within you the whole time
Seek again and you shall find, look within and you will see
Touch and you will feel, you see everything you seek is so real
Hold your head high and look out, see all the world before your eyes
Bow your head and all you see is your own weary feet, bloodied and torn, ready to accept defeat
The light it shines from you , touching so many and warming a chosen few
Rise up my child, become who you are, open your soul and find the words
Written and spoken ,soon to be heard, touch your hand upon another
Reach for those who cannot see, cannot hear, shed your light and warmth upon their souls
Open your heart to the world, cry your tears and heal your pain, for the sun shines after the rain
