this little piggy wants to stay home this evening

Yeah, I'm not too particularly fond of the company parties myself. I spend all day with these people, whom I like very much, but 8 hours a day, every day, well I'm ready for a break.

We've just been informed that my firm is having a 30th anniversary gala next fall, black tie, attendance not mandatory but strongly encouraged. Not really looking forward to it.

Oh Suz now that is something that I would enjoy, since its something that I have never done

My company party will be like this if it repeats from last year

You go in, find the group you wish to sit with
Find yourself a table
Get a glass of wine
Have dinner
Chat with your tablemates
Eat dessert while the company President and his wife gives their thank you speech for the Christmas gift
Say good bye and go home

No one mingles

Now tell me where is the Christmas feeling in all of that

Sounds like most company christmas parties.....I'm with Suzin....spend 8 or more hours a day with them....that's plenty!
