Topic: One random fact about yourself - part 2 | |

I sometimes post in seemingly random threads because I need to kill a little bit of time when the forums are slow and I need to preserve the charge in my phone battery by not playing energy-draining games.

I hate cold weather, but when I go to sleep at night, I like the room a little cold. Go figure.

I like doing research on my family tree. I did that once. It is so interesting. I found out that my great grandfather came to this country from Sweden in 1881. |

I have done my research back to 1605 with roots in Alsace, France Germany, on my biological mothers side.

I don't know if I want to find out about my ancestry. People seem to find out things that they didn't want to know. I asked my father about 1 1/2 years ago to write down family history. It's weird.

I love the thrill of hunting down clues to finding people especially the ones who think they can't be found.

I found out 1 1/2 years ago my mother's father died walking across the street and hit by a car. I didn't know him.

Cat sorry to hear that, I found out that my biological mother was dead on Ancestry.com 3 years after she died and I was listed in her Obit. Then found a younger sister on there too 6 months later after her death. I had to inform 4 my brothers and sisters of there deaths. I have 13 brothers and sisters. Real, half, adopted and step.

I'm stuck tracing back my German ancestry. I can't find any records of my great great grandfather's family before 1885, and they arrived in 1870.

I hate the emotional stressful feeling you can get from some of life's roller coaster rides.

Sometimes, names are connected to a specific region of the country. I have a name, but it's not a common one. Personally I suspect it's from the Alsace-Lorraine region. And yes, I do know of a link to the Rhine Valley for the name. But that's all I've got. No records. No ship logs. No other people with the surname. Nothing. I suspect they shipped from either Bremen or Hamburg. I just haven't been able to prove it. |
