Nice. You all rock. Drinks on me if you ever in town. And I'll be the DD since I don't drink anymore.

I don't have time to socialize except on the internet when I have some free time.

This is basically how it is for me. At least now. Up until a few months ago I was just isolating.

My job here in Michigan was supposed to be an hourly job with one to two days a week off. My goal was to climb out of my isolation box and socialize face to face with people. Only I got promoted to Innkeeper and now I work everyday and need to be available between 6am to 9pm, and am on call 24/7.

I decided to go out last night anyways just to get around people other than those staying at the Inn. It was nice, chatted a little with the bartender and the chef.. I'm thinking I'll go more often, even just to have a soda... seems like locals and other island workers go there later in the evening so it would be a good chance to meet people.

Only problem is I get up at 5am, so staying out late makes me a little grumpy the next day.

The few friends I hung out with for most of my adult life have drifted away over the last few years. I can keep pretty busy with family stuff; outings, parties, holiday events. Other than that, I’ve become a real homebody over the last few years. I do a few things a year with old friends still, like anual brunches and girls weekend trip to the lake. So that’s nice. happy

When you live in one of the top 8 most expensive places to live, you are either well off and can live comfortably.
0r you're usually too busy working jobs to be going out for fun too often.

Well, I'm usually working- what does that say to you?
