Larsi what's your club team, I'm a Schalke man, and you Mikey and Moe, whose your club team. You've got scousers in the USA?
I miss the rous cup when England and Scotland played every year, had some great players over the years Scotland, but never a good team, they were always tasty matches though

Hah. Borussia Dortmund man here bigsmile

My local team in Dublin is Shelbourne FC, I am a volunteer steward at home matches. Plus, I have a soft spot for Liverpool.

Can't stand RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich sick

I didn't understand a few of those words...scousers?

Scousers are people from Liverpool, as I said, I don't follow regional teams since the early days but always give the world cup a look.
And I think you'll find Millwall (East London team) were one of the leading violence instigators of the day! But also up there was the Chelsea fans, a movie called "the football factory" is a good insight into it.
oh, thanks...yea, there's about 50-100 who formed the Liverpool fan club here in Houston, mostly English and Scottish people that are here for their work in oil... They use the pub I hang out as their base to watch the games, mostly the live one's early Saturday mornings ... Great people, as long as you don't talk to bad about Liverpool...

I was there, when Liverpool won the old UEFA Cup in my hometown of Dortmund. No problems there, and I was steward at the Liverpool end shades

On a side note, Spain sacked their manager two days before their first match against Portugal surprised

Germany, because it is my home country, Belgium, because I have a small bet on them, and Egypt, because Mo Salah is a brilliant player.

Yeah Millwall have a tasty firm and football factory is a good film. As for the Chelsea headhunters, your having a laugh, they won't even go away in London, never mind to Yorkshire. There's always a bit of an argument over who had the railway logo 1st, us or West Ham. Leeds is twinned with Dortmund, we have a statue of a man carrying a beer barrel a gift from the city of Dortmund, its in Dortmund Square. I was a steward at Elland Road for about 6 months. Suprised you ain't heard of Mo Salah what with all them scousers around. And we were number 1 when it mattered.

R2, I can't remember the year but I saw Leeds play Colchester when I was young (where I'm from ) we beat them lol. at that time I'm sure Leeds were one of the top teams? I remember supporting them at school!

That's cool, we'll need the money by then...as long as the foreigners go home when it's done...stupid democrats will probably try to make everyone a citizen...

I do have an off topic question for you, if you don't mind...what does England think of our American football games being played over there? The stadiums seem pretty empty during the games from what I've seen...

I'm not really into it, but a few years ago it seemed to be everywhere, even my town (Colchester) had a team called the gladiators, which was fitting name for our town as gladiators were here in the roman times.
Then it faded away, weather it's due to lack of funding or maybe even preasure from the football association!
Shame really. nice to have a bit of diversity in sport for the youngsters.

Class shades

One of the main squares in Dortmund's city centre is called 'Platz von Leeds' (Leeds Square)

Plus Leeds visited Tolka Park a few times for pre season friendlies. Last time Gary Monk had a jersey signed by the whole team, and gave it to a young Shelbourne FC supporter in a wheelchair

:raising_hand::thumbsup:That's nice to know Larsi, thanks, I'm glad about the shirt and the square.
Mikey, yes Colchester's most famous victory, I used to live their, down the Hythe, squaddie town, used to be capital of England in Roman times. But want I really want to know is, and I bet your not gonna tell me. What is with the 3 swords on the crest, Saladin swords I believe they're called. They're like Muslim swords, curved with an Achilles cutting notch on the back at the bottom, the Romans used a straight sword. Roman swords I would understand, but Saladin swords? Also what is with that God awful carved picture in the library, the crucification of mankind?
Did you know that the name York comes is derived from the viking name Jorvik, Leeds is in Yorkshire for those that didn't know, so is York
Moe, I've only ever known NFL to be at Wembley in London, once a year. I didn't know it wasn't full. I'd love to see the skins play, especially against you cowboys. NFL was quite big in the 80s here, when it 1st started being shown in TV, it used to be on TV more. We don't get much on the TV now. Unless you've got sky or cable
Have you ever seen a game of Aussie rules? ( that's Australian rules football), they have some right ding dongs sometimes and everyones got a mustache and mullet

R2, they are seaxes, they represent the ancient ties with the eastern saxons. They do look similar to the turkish type sword . The coat of arms was granted in the 1930s.
If you mean the old library it's gone! Can't remember seeing the carvings. Not sure how long ago you were here but the Hythe area has changed dramatically! So has the old barracks.
