You'll need a snow mobile for the winter, and there will be times when the lake is frozen over, so getting off the Island would be difficult... unless you wanted to take a chance and snow mobile across it. Is the mainlamd far away? I am good in skiing  7.2 miles to Mackinaw City, and 5 miles to St. Ignace. Takes about 20 minutes by ferry boat. |

every Michigander knows the island or should I have been there at least five times myself on a field trip in sixth grade once on the honeymoon stayed in a BB right by the beach took the horse and carriage to beautiful restaurant on the other side of the island we took the kids at least three times That's cool TMommy, which BB did you stay at? Before now, I've only visited a couple times. I'm working at Metivier Inn for the season... been here for almost a month now getting the Inn ready. We'll be opening on the 17th. |

I could make it in 20 minutes as well, just need the wind coming from behind

It was awesome Mikey
A bit chilly, but great. I wanted to go back just now to the British Landing place since the sun is out, but my legs didn't want to keep bike riding, so I came back. Plus it's still pretty chilly and the wind is picking up. I made it around the whole Island the first time though. When we have a warmer day I want to go inward on the Island. There's a trail near the British Landing that takes you to skull cave and a bunch of other trails... and eventually to the fort. How's your day been? |

Sounds interesting to. I've been to my nieces for a while, they were having a BBQ with some friends and no kids. It looks like it's going to be a late and messy one

Popping in to say hi. Monday morning back to work after a relaxing weekend. Off to Auckland next week to see what the night life is like. Hahaha j mist probably me in med by 9 to watch a movie. Yep I'm getting to that stage early to bed and early to rise. An old nanny.

Hey annie, it's early evening here, holiday tomorrow but I'm working How's things? Very good thanks Mike. I have decided my new goal for this year train to do a halve marathon. 21 ks walking. Rotorua has a marathon every year. I needed a new goal. I was inspired by friends and others who did it on Saturday. I have a training buddy who wants to do the full marathon 42 is. Last time I said that he turned up 20 mins earlier in his cycling race. Lol I told him to get back out there and come back I wasn't ready at the finish. I was dying my hair. I needed another 10 mins. Poor guy cycled 150 is. He looked stuffed when I got there. Ops he survived.
