the rock hill area for work. What is the area like? What are some places that are interesting around there? Good locations to look at houses? Anyone from around there I can chat with?

jm...

I would go online and use your best search engine and check for a chamber of commerce, they usually have great information to share and can probably even send you info in the mail. They usually have great info to share, even about re-location.

I hope this helps you...

Thanks Puffin

I did some stuff online, but I was curious to talk to some people from the area to gain an real person's perspective. They aren't going to put the slummy stuff online. Thanks for the suggestion!

jm,

Rock Hill is about 20 miles from Charlotte, NC, which is NC's largest city. Tons to do there, for sure. Google it, lots of info.

Do you know anything about the Rock Hill area, like what the city is like? I am excited that it is that close to Charlotte!

Jm There are lots of small towns around there and the housing is fairly reasonable. spartenburg is another town where there is lots to do.

Where is Spartenburg relative to Rock Hill?

Spatanburg is just up the road from Greenville, and Rock Hill is up further, but all those places are great to see. Since you will be close to Charlotte, NC you could always go to Carowinds. Very cool. I like it there. Try it out. There is always something to do in South Carolina. I miss it there, sort of.

Half of Carowinds (very cool amusement park) lies in Charlotte, NC and the other half is on SC ground, maybe Rock Hill city limits. not sure about that. Spartanburg is about an hour or little more south of Charlotte. Too far to commute each day.

thanks to all who replied. I am going to be working in Charlotte, but the are helping us find housing in Rock Hill, so if you know of any other areas that are an easy commute to Charlotte, and relatively cheap, let me know. It is a long move from Oregon to SC, so I am trying to get as much info as possible.
