How does this happen. I assume that the matches provided are somewhat based on my own profile. However, at 65 yrs old I have a really hard time to understand why my matches are in their 20s, 30, 40 and early 50s and why they are from all over the globe.

Are my settings wrong? How do I narrow this down?

I gave up on that a while back. When i did do it i noticed it pulled up everything opposite of what i was looking for.

The way it was ecplained to me was if nothing matches your search criteria. Then it broadens the criteria.

Matches come through 2 ways

1. The site generates them based on your search criteria

2. Members can manually match. You go go to someone's profile and click the "match with him/her" button

Remember, mutual match os only meant to be a fun way to connect, not the only tool used

Broaden it? I need to narrow it. This is ridiculous that 20 yr olds want to match with me. All I can think is scammers

okay the first makes sense. The second is a real pain.

Yup i think the same thing when anyone matches me.

I reported it and the powers that be have set it so I am getting English speaking people. I was getting almost all French this morning.

I am wondering something though. If someone much younger sends me a message I was responding to them to let them know I wasn't interested. So I wonder if the program is taking our responses into consideration when it suggests matches.

So now I will not respond to them and see what happens. Hopefully it will narrow to the age range I prefer

Also if you have your filters set and don't respond to them they can't message you.

some French speakers are still getting through but I won't respond

Two days and I am still getting mostly French speaking people. A button to choose language as a preference would really help solve the problem.

I haven't responded to one French person and still the problem persists.

Based on my search criteria,
I have 10,000+ "Potential Matches".
Those being the ones, I could possibly choose
to match with, or who could possibly choose to
match with me.

An individual would have to choose to match with
me, and I them, for it to become a mutual match.

Needless to say, "potential" is just a pathway to possibilities.
It's up to you, to choose the destination.

I'm so hottt I have a slew of 20 year olds who want some of me.. ..I mean I'm so hot that some have posted the same picture with different profiles..Can't say I blame them it must be my hot pictures of nothing that has enticed them...what can you say ..when you got it..you got it..

In the US there is a large population of Spanish speaking people. In Canada it is French speaking people.

I live across the river from Quebec. There are within my targeted area. Almost every person who contacts me from Quebec is French speaking.

It would not be a difficult thing to add language preference to the questions we are asked along with age, height, gender, etc. It is actually quite simple and would solve a lot of problems.

Meanwhile I am paying for a service I am not benefitting from in any way and only getting more frustrated with and I still have 4 months on my subscription.
