Hi Bailey, having a good day? waving

Didn’t start out that way, but ended very well! laugh

I read to the end of the thread, and can not disagree about today’s younger generation. grumble Were we ever that unmotivated? Can’t be so!

Unmotivated young people? As in moaning, because they have to work weekends, not being able to go to the pub with their mates? noway

It’s like you KNOW my office crew! surprised laugh

Dunno. I show them around the place, give clear instructions and am very patient. Everybody says that. But some are just lacking basic skills or are too lazy sad

I work with a lot of young adults and teenagers. Some are from other countries and some from here. Some work very hard...mostly those from other countries. Although a few from certain countries if female don't even know how to use a broom... their culture doesn't make women work, they get more pampered.

There are a few that only want to play and came here for a vacation. They have no passion for doing a good job and no clue about providing a service to others. To them it's just a paycheck, so the garbage on the floor doesn't matter to them. They don't see that it's a reflection on the establishment or on them!

With others, I see very good work ethics and hard work. Ultimately I believe it's the job of the Management to teach them properly and if they aren't listening and don't care... fire them, it's a good lesson for them.

If they are trying and need extra help, find what works for them as far as teaching them. For me, I learn best by doing it myself. Someone can show me and explain it, but until I actually do it, it doesn't sink in. So part of the Supervisors job is to discover in what way the employee learns best so they can succeed.

When I train someone, I ask them how they learn best... some are visual learners, some auditory learners, and others are hands on learners. Works pretty well in teaching them.

Not sure about those classic role models. I am a pretty good cook and my house is always sparkling clean

Anyway, better hit the deck now, up early in the morning for work.

This is why you had so many employment offers. happy You’re a good manager. I love your attitude about training. flowerforyou

Before I have a trainee strike out on their own, I have them teach their task to me. If they can explain it to me properly, I know they are ready. You can’t teach what you don’t know. It’s also much more personal to most than traditional testing. It makes some nervous, but you can usually defuse that with a few jokes and reassurances.

Good afternoon Bailey smile2

Are we that bad, that you don't want to date here? Or is your workmate a dork? sad2

Not in the least Larsi. flowerforyou

I cant expect to date without my photos online and don’t want to blur the lines between my personal and professional life by visibly seeking male attention online in front of a coworker I see everyday. It would make me uncomfortable. embarassed

I adore all of you I’ve met so far. You are all so far away until I log in. laugh

No worries. I do understand your concerns smile2

flowerforyou

Lovely! I don’t want to be the creepy faceless lady. sad2

I deactivated last night and this morning decided there had to be a way to continue chatting. So long as it’s alright by my coffee house friends. flowerforyou

nothing wrong with being a faceless creep.
of course, if it bothers you THAT much...

...feel free to inbox me some of your favorite pics.
then, inbox me some of MY favorite pics. laugh

That you’re not creepy, doesn’t mean people won’t think I am. rofl

wait, what makes you think people don't think i'm creepy? laugh

I’ve not found you creepy as yet. flowerforyou

give it time, my precious...
give it time. pitchfork
