‘’French policeman Arnaud Beltrame, who took the place of a hostage during an attack at a supermarket, has died of his injuries.

Mr Beltrame, 45, had swapped himself with the last remaining hostage during the attack in Trebes, south west France, on Friday.

He was shot by Redouane Lakdim, prompting counter-terror officers to storm the supermarket and shoot the Islamist terrorist dead.

Interior Minister Gerard Collomb announced the death on Twitter, saying France would never forget Mr Beltrame's heroism, bravery and sacrifice’’

No doubt there’ll be some who question his actions.

Bravery and selflessness beyond belief for me.

I agree, it is indeed sad to hear of a good brave man losing his life because of the actions of someone whose own life was full of hatred.

killing innocent people is something very bad (dirty). //// history does not forget the heroic people.
