I only know Hungarian goulash but I don't cook it because I don't like it. I blame my mother for that as she made it so badly she put me off it for life 
Macaroni cheese I've experienced that with some dishes from childhood too, lol. I googled it and there's not a whole lot of difference. Some say the Hungarian has meat and the regular doesn't. OT... Olives
