"because the environmentalists today could not pull their heads out of their rectums and address this problem"

Negative

"If you think you have done your part by changing a few lightbulbs so you can run around telling everybody how "green" you are"

Negative

"besides changing a couple light bulbs and then shouting to the world how "green" I am"

Negative

Negative speaking, IE going outside of a civilised discussion to the point of being cynical and attempting to put people down, is not the way to go about initiating a healthy debate. Sorry, but I do my small part, what I can, yes good for you, but I feel sorry for you because of where you're negativity will take you. So, I won't stoop down to that, but I will say again that proper disposal through progessive, orginised & layered landfilling can go a long way. And with the tiny amount of mercury in flourescant bulbs, plus the extended, multi year lifespan of the flourescants (meaning ALOT less of them are discarded), I personaly don't think we've got as much to worry about as we do with overusing power. Using less power not only helps the planet, it helps your wallet as well. It's actualy pretty amazing how little current these things use, Edison would be proud.

Ahhh, but I'm done 4 now anyway, just wanted to say I'm doing my small part bit by bit, not to get in an arguement over who does more. Oh yeah, and one more thing I do everyday, is use public transit to travel locally for everything except groceries;^]

I smoked some weed today

That might help the planet alot if more people did, would help reduce crime anyway, but might not help with our obesity..lol;^]

There are a few things you should know about landfills, all liners eventually leak and any mercury that goes into a landfill will eventually end up at the bottom because it is so heavy, on the way down it contaminates everything it touches. Further you continue to evade the whole problem of what are we going to do with this mess 25 years from now. You keep saying a few bulbs like you are the only one using them. Think of the number of bulbs in your house, multiply that by the number of dwellings in the U.S. and then multiply that times 5 because according to you the bulbs last 5 years then tell me it's a small problem. Unless and until the problem is dealt with you are just trading one form of pollution for another.

I agree that everyone should do his small part to make things better. But, there are bigger things coming than the green house gases, The govt or people that knows have FORGOT to tell you , or neglected to tell you, that we are entering into a regular cycle , some call, the PHOTON BELT, which is some type of radiation belt, which is a bigger problem than the other problems, and even the poles may change and the rotation of the earth may change. Think about this , if that happens (poles reverse) then the sun will rise in the west and set in the east , like some say has happened in times before us.(nothing new) It is just that you and I have not seen it before. Supposedly, very unusual weather is ahead of us before long. By the way, where did you think that the glaciers came from that you heard about in history? What about the idea ,that it could start snowing one day and not quit until you had 20,000 feet of snow. I heard it has happened several times, not just once? Keep smiling, We have interesting times and things coming, I don't think it will be boring. Hey ,we are in this together, let's make the best of it,and enjoy it. Might be a good idea to build some small underground shelters , like the BIG BOYS ARE DOING. I figure they KNOW WHAT IS COMING, also like China and Russia do for their people. I hear that China has an under ground tunnel system . The Great Wall of China is supposed to be one of the SEVEN WONDERS of the WORLD, but,I hear that their tunnel system is even greater. Who said China does not take care of its people at least a little bit? And Russia is said to have underground shelters for ALL THEIR PEOPLE. And you thought we were a first rate country. How many shelters do we have here?It is not too late yet to do something about this problem. Hey, I love you all.

I replaced several of my incanescant bulbs this morning with flourescants, took out the recycling, reused my foam coffee cups, still working on getting mom to switch to e85;^]

e85 is cheaper here

but doesn't your car require

upgrading to use it

i don't think it is the same as the gas that had the

ethanol in it

info would be nice

this is so true

five years

you replace what 10

so 10 times a conservative 1 million homes (not all are using them)

so ten million every five years

say 50 years of replacing them

so now we are at 100 million

and this is the conservative number
