How to start this? What to say?
The sun is rising, beginning a new day
The birds are singing in glorious song
The trees bend as the wind begins to blow
New flowers open up beginning to show
I see no fault this day, no wrong.

Slowly everything grows dim and dark
And tortured pasts renew their mark
Fear sets in and masks my joy
No place to run, no place to flee
I feel this darkness take hold of me
And I fear it... now helpless as a boy.

What's that I see? A ray of light?
Come to aid me in my plight?
Indeed it has, it beckons me
As I reach, the darkness dies
The light so bright all else subsides
I close my eyes and at last I see.

Standing now within the grass
My rescuer revealed at last
She takes my hand, my day returns anew
The colors crisp, the sounds so clear
She leans in and whispers to my ear
Three small words... "I love you"

Time is on my side ;) I could go the rest of my life and hear those
