Hi all
I've been away for a while so I thought a thread would be in order.
Some of you might've found my departure a bit sudden, at least one person I can think of... This isn't an apology but a little explanation may be polite at least.
I've been suffering from stomach pain for a year now. 'Round about my hiatus from this site the docs found polyps in my system from a bacteria in my stomach, the beginnings of cancer. Been undergoing treatment ever since but the bug is tenacious! Got rid of it twice and still it came back.
I feel better these days, even though my stomach sings a different tune. Didn't get cancer but it was damn close and I lost too much weight to be able to get back on my feet as quickly as I would have hoped.
I had to let go of a bunch of things to pay bills and stay afloat so I couldn't keep up with Mingle2 and my friends on here.
I'm back home again and slowly getting my life back. I still have a long road of recovery ahead of me but I'm stronger now and have great peeps helping me.
So if anyone was disappointed by my absence now you know what's up.

I do feel better and can now do most things on my own and I'm slowly but surely regaining weight. My stomach still feels like a battlefield but last gastroscopy didn't show any trace of the bacteria left ( according to the docs - I had to see three doctors before the last one found out about the bacteria, goes to show you the quality of care we got here in Belgium ) so I'm hoping I can move on and get healthy again.

The hardest part is feeling like I'm hungry all the time while it's only my stomach acting up. Sometimes I AM hungry but can't swallow a thing... I suspect I caught it when I traveled to Rwanda because the pain started not long after. I must've eaten or drunk something pretty nasty!
But then again, I did also suffer a terrible trauma a year before that completely effed me up emotionally and I lost all apetite. That may have been the cause also... but regardless, I'm ready to go back to the gym, good sign.

@Blondie, I do take it easy, have to. I'm lacking vitamins and fat so if I force too hard I'll be burning muscle instead of calories. Thank God I was in perfect health before that otherwise I'd be in a world of hurt. As it is the docs are expecting a speedy recovery... or they can't wait to get rid of me
