Has anyone ever had a near death experience? Want to talk about it? This is just the place to do it!
Me? I've had two...well one where I literally almost died, and another where I thought I would. First time was when I got e coli poisoning. By the time I made it to the e.r., my temp was spiking fast. By the time they had me in ice, it had reached 106.7. Scary! I'm lucky I escaped with minimal brain damage, which is pretty much just a small loss of short term memory. I did not, however, manage to escape losing one of my kidneys. R.I.P. left kidney....you were loved.. Second time was being taken at knife point by some assholes. Don't ask me how I lived to tell that tale. I think my guardian angel was working overtime that night! So share those stories! I shared mine! |

I haven't but i've seen it through my oldest son.
Took him to his pediatrician when he was 13 months old because i thought he just had a cold. His dr. all she did was look in his ears and said yeah a double ear infection and when I was feeding him his bottle she said he "sounded" like he was congestion...she didn't check him with her stuff... . Within a few days he wasn't getting better so I rushed him to the ER. They told me he had a puss pocket in his airway and if his dr. had looked down his throat she would have noticed it. That pocket was blocking oxygen going down into his lungs. His lungs were collapsing. We were rushed to our Children's hospital in Indy by ambulance. They told me he had strep throat, bronchitis and that puss pocket. They said if I hadn't brought him in that day I would have lost him that night. Now he is a healthy but clumsy 13 year boy that is very active. Talk about scary..i still remember the day when the drs rushed me and my dad out of the room because his O2 level dropped rapidly...i thought I had lost him. |

I've had two. The first time, I had an allergic reaction to demarol while in labor, I had a seizure and my heart stopped. The second time, I had a miscarriage and lost a lot of blood. Needless to say, no more children for me, I got the hint

When I had my first son, I was only 18. After leaving the hospital I went home. About two days later I was hemorrhaging, but I was to young and stupid to know anything was wrong. I lost so much blood that I passed out. My family rushed me to the hospital with the police in persuit. I was rushed in to E.R. They checked me out and the doctor hadn't pushed the after birth out. I had to have several tranfusions. Everything turned out alright. I would never want another transfusion again. I have never felt so cold in all my life. I now have 4 adult children.

I've only had two. one involvingthe ocean and an intense rip tide. the other was when i was hiking in a canyon with a couple of friends. Suddenly a man started throwing rocks at us from a higher lookout point above us on the canyon. He kept telling us to leave his canyon. Then he pulled out a shotgun and fired at us! needless to say i had never run that mile back to the car so fast in my life!! Apparently after calling the cops and reporting his car, he has done this to numerous people. He thinks he owns the canyon.
I am never going back! |
