it's hard, but it's so rewarding! i think you have to be a softy to work there. lol I'm sure it is.... but if something rough happened, I just don't know if I would be able to let it go after work was over.. and I am really not a fan of work life impacting non-work life in a negative way. |

Definately ange.... any certain field w/in it that you wanna do? I haven't quite decided yet...I'm hoping to figure that soon. I'm leaning towards within a school or my own practice. But I'm hopefully getting an internship at a hospital, so maybe that will change my mind. |

That may help actually... any certain types of kids you want to help especially... ie sexually abused, neglected, depression, etc

consider specializing in something to do with autism - with the number of diagnosis rising at an incredible pace, there will definitely be a job in that area for you when you are done with school - likely one that pays well, too

I agree on your point. I've thought about it a lot, ever since I volunteered at this summer camp in which one of my campers had autism. It kind of bothered me that other counselors were quick to get angry with him =/ But I thought he was an amazing child.
