Tight kisses are possibly held back for any manner of reasons I'd say

I have never heard of "tight kisses" before. I just think of a peck on the lips and no tongue involved.

It's a cultural thing, like walking arm in arm or holding hands.
In North America, 2 men walking arm in arm, or greeting with a hug and a kiss on both cheeks, or 2 women walking hand in hand might be considered gay. Not so in most Central or Eastern European countries. In Asia, a bow is the norm; a greeting, or a sign of respect; depending on how low. Oh boy, am I glad that I don't have a big truck tire or serious back problems.
We tend to view kisses as a sign of intimacy.
Then again, just imagine; ladies, we meet for the first time; I take your hand in both of mine, and kiss the back of yours. Am I a galant gentleman? Do you feel warm and fuzzy, or do you ask yourself; what's this guy after?
PERCEPTION!

Between friends; it exists normal or light kisses on the cheeks;but...it exists "tight kisses"...with some discreet pressure on the cheeks or near to lips and a little longer than normal. This tight one can have different interpretations depending in the relationship type.In general; close friends like that.

IMHO so called tight kisses are a waste of a kiss.

What you need is open mouths trying to swallow each other's head, heavy breathing, tongues fighting and slobber all over each other's chin
