What is a cam girl?

I can't mess up by thinking someone is a "cam girl." I just don't respond to them if I think they are. I am never rude, or accusatory, there's no point to that. So far, there's never been any indication that I guessed wrong.

This site does appear to have a few automated bots attached to it, such that within a few minutes of my signing on each time, I will get a message or a wink or something from a "woman" who is about thirty, and who lives in a place where half of the alleged placename is local to me, and half is not, or is altogether fantasy. Like "Lulu from Washington, New York has just nudged you," or some such.
