So, was Sesame Street really more hardcore when we were children? Did it "ruin" us? Discuss. |

Wow this moving down fast. I know it isn't about sex or anything...sheesh.
No one has any thoughts about this? Ok fine...my thoughts tend to drift towards parents just being way too overprotective. Its good to want to protect your child, but this is just ridiculous! |

Being adopted into my family at age 5, I didn't realize how much S.S. DID help me until I was older. I know absolutely nothing when I came to them. Not colors, numbers, alphabet...I mean nothing. S.S. actually prepared me for learning. Warped me? Destroyed me? Not hardly. Ruin me? Heck no! I wish my 4 year old would watch it instead of "Dora and Diego" all the time. I still like Ernie & Burt. (Big bird too)...and let's not forget ELMO!!!

Sesame street to me was all about the muppets and the music.i had the album .
I hate todays teaching cartoons which dont teach kids how to lose with grace and are loud as hell. Shows need to keep it real and stop pandering to the people who try to shield their kids from reality. The old shows had grit .I also loved new zoo reveue and electric company.cool stuff. |

Bert and Ernie are not married and they are not gay. They are puppets who teach kids that different people can be friends. They are also living every boys childhood dream of living with their best friend. As we grow up, we all hope for that same thing, but we hope that our best friend is of the opposite (or in some cases: same) gender.
My kids sing and talk to their toys, there is no sexual connotation in that. They are playing and using their imagination. |
