Why do my 2 oldest boys dislike each other so much? They were horseplayin at the bus stop this morning and my oldest one(with the fractured elbow) tripped and landed on my middle son. My son landed right on his face on the street. Got a scratch near his eye but when he got to school he started getting a headache and started feeling dizzy. He went to the nurses and they called me AT WORK telling me she thinks he has a concusion. I had to leave work and get him to the ER. He is fine but still has a headache. I missed most of work today cuz my kids don't want to behave.

Can't tell you why, Katers, I had 2 brothers and a sister and we were always fighting, most of the time started out as goofing around then got serious. Good news is, we grew out of and are incredibly close now.

My kids are like that too. Sibling rivalry,I guess. I don't get it either. My middle daughter got a free trip home from school today for hitting my son in the cafeteria.

My son is the same way with his sister, he just treats her bad but he protects, when someon else is picking on her or messing with her

It does not get any better either, as they get bigger, the play gets rougher...

It does not get any better either, as they get bigger, the play gets rougher... Been there, done that -- I actually stabbed my older brother in the leg when we were in high school. He was kicking me in the head, and I just happened to be eating an apple with a steak knife .. and ooops ! Never touched me again! |

funny thing is that if I understood the story...my son that got hurt saved my other one's elbow..the one that he broke

I only have a 2yr old so no sibling rivalry yet. In our home we fought with each other al the time.whenever one of us was bullied, we fought against them. Its part of growing up. And they will outgrow it.

I have raised 9 (still am raising 5 girls) who have always fought with each other. No different than my twin brother and I fighting at the bus stop, and even in the aisles of the bus! Fighting is a natural way with siblings. It doesn't end anytime soon. (sorry to break that to you). Especially with boys. It's turf, toys, and power fighting. It's not personal. It's in their DNA. Don't worry, if they were girls they would still fight. Mine are 15 and 13. The younger scrawny one knocks the crap out of the older. They'll outgrow it. I've been there. Luck to you!

Sibling rivalry happens. Take a breath and relax. They will grow out of it but not anytime soon and you might as well just take it easy and let life unfold as it will. Helmets are a good idea though

Not sure why but I have a feeling one of my kids will be taken away from me or something is gonna happen to him. He's doing everything not to get along with anyone and hes trying to pick fights with his oldest brother. He won't listen to me and he's stabbing toys with a knife. I'm at my wits ends with him. He is ok when he's visiting my dad but when he's at our house he's a total terror.

Hang in there hun! Just do whatever's necessary to get him through this, you and he will both be ok. |

Geeez katers, I don't know what to say I have rotten kids.... they told me that Santa wasn't real.
Mine didn't fight, still don't, they squabble, and debate fiercely, but they are figuring out their place, the hierarchy. I don't know what to say, other than horseplay is healthy, watch a litter of kittens or pups... Kids are kids... love them anyway. |
