Can anyone suggest any exercises for thighs, which will help loose fat, but won't increase muscles? I do lot of cycling and have quite developed leg muscles, but would still like to loose couple inches on my thighs.I would be very grateful for tips.

Have you ever tried yoga .. just wondering .. that would be a good choice, if you want to develop your whole body in harmony, but are not particularly interested in building muscles ..

Yes, I can suggest a few thigh exercises, but I am sure I would be thrown off the site.

Yes, walking is good. I walk a lot. I prefer walking to driving with good weather.

Do agree with that :)) To me yoga is the best choice just don't expect any results in some weeks or months. That's a mistake made by many people. Our body is very conservative and it takes time to make it the same we want... but it's definitely possible with yoga !!!

Cycling if done in the right heart rate zone will burn fat. Are you cycling with a plan or merely cycling? A 45-second sprint followed by a minute recovery repeat x 6. It will speed up your metabolism and burn more fat. Does this 2-4 times a week. I hope this helps

Squats and lunges may be good for thigh muscles, but not for knees. I have severe arthritis in my knees, hips and ankles. I was born with it. I am really careful with my exercising. I can't advise anyone what to do.

I do cross-cycling on different landscapes, in woods and hills. So, speed and heart rate vary all the time during distance.

I mountain bike and road cycle. If you want to set your body for fat burn mode do as I recommended, above and beyond your cross-cycling which is too erratic.

Also. More efficient muscles burn more calories.Lifting weights will firm up muscles in women. Testosterone causes muscle growth. Women won't get bigger unless they use steroids. Your worry about getting bigger muscles is unfounded.

I hear this all the time the fear of having well defined muscular legs. What's wrong with that? I don't think you will have many think this isn't sexy and I think with this idea of thinking might be restricting one from doing a good workout. Let's thank our media culture once again. Like funkyjunkie steroids...those women are injecting area's of Thier legs. Other than that there is some good workout advice from other participants here. biggrin
Had to come back in forgot diet is a key ingredient.
