Seems we have started a little support community. I think it is about time we have our own thread of support groups. I would like everyone to write Mike and Van to ask for this since it seems to be helpful and a nice place to come and identify, seek comfort (not pity) and help each other. And I mean this for all the support groups.

Whadda you all think?

I agree 100%. That sounds like a GREAT idea. I hope to see that thread up soon. If Mike and Van are reading this all I have to say "Lets do it guys"

I think that's a GREAT idea, as long as there is a way to keep the IDIOTS out, and I think that is am impossibilty here....

I like the idea but then I have been going to support groups for 24 years. One of the beneficial things about support groups is the reality that there are ups and down in life. One might be on a pink cloud one day and down the next. At one times one needs or wants support and at other times one is able to give it. Personally, it has helped me with my relationships with my friends and friends yet to be made. It is a win-win situation.

Maybe it would work on here. I am not sure who the moderaters are but they could be consulted. Maybe they have some ideas about how to keep it a safe place to vent and discuss some delicate information.

Well, I have considered the fact that jurks might come in but can't they aready do that, or would some want to keep it like it is and stay kinda hidden down in misc/help? It is an option. I just thought that there are so many opping up that it might be nice to have a place to go to talk with people of like mind. I have noticed that most people don't even know we are down here and when they find us, they are pleased.

So I guess it could be a toss up. But by staying hidden aren't we just validating our insecurities and the stigma that the general public place on us?

I don't know. I can see it from both points of view.

Hi, I am in recovery for meth & alcohol. I have 2 1/2 yrs clean & sober! Support groups are great, and I think this too is a fantastic idea. I can't wait to see this on here!!

Hey all -- I've been sober for 15-1/2 yrs and I've run into alot of people on here with addictions. For me, it would be great to be able to get additional support.

Congrats on your success paulap! All you have to do is write to the owners of the site. Mike and Van. They are located at the top of the forum on each topic. Click and ask them. If enough people do, they might do it.

Just a topic that says Support Groups, then we can develope our own threads......on what ever topic we feel we would like support in. There are a few already
