You may not think they are the best you most likely prefer jap bikes Honda and such they got there start from Harley manufacturing plants in Japan. Ha well the Harley is the longest running U.S production bike it has out lived them all though some are making a come back. Like them our love them Harley is an American ICON, I have ridden them all and prefer my old school choppers or my 80's to anything else

Few could argue that Harley Davidson is a name recognized -and revered - the world over. The company doesn’t just produce an American Legend. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are part and parcel of the American fabric.

There is no other motorcycle in the world that consistently becomes a folk art object, for a Harley-Davidson motorcycle is the only two-wheeled vehicle that invariably becomes more than a machine

One thing is sure. Harley-Davidson is a survivor and their mark has been made on the American rider as well as riders around the world. What other company can boast that they have permanent advertising on the bodies of thousands of their customers in the form of tattoos? -- Only Harley-Davidson.

That's all fine and dandy thunderbear, I have never cared for Harleys and I never will. It's just one of those things, if people like them that's fine and if they don't well they don't. It's as simple as that.

Ok... heres some advice for ya. If your thinking of a Harley dont buy a 2005-2008 model of any kind! This information was given to me by a builder who has done many many many engine rebuilds as of late due to Harley's let's save some money bull tactics. And I have seen the garbage they are turning out right now first hand. If your mechanically inclined build one your self and have a machine that they will bury ya with. In any case it all depends on your frame of mind. Me I love the old school bobbers but would never buy one. Parts only and a little piece of me is in evey bike. They gotta tear em away when I need to part with them but currently I am working on a bobber that will go to the fricking nursing home with me. If ya want more advice on some really cool web sites give me a shout. You dont have to spend a fortune to have a cool ride, but you need to make it you, not everyone else's envy. After all your the one doing the riding.

One of my good friends was big into Harleys even talked about getting one until his friend let him borrow his Honda. He told me he had changed his mind after that and after a few months of looking around decided to get a BMW, there's a local shop where I live at that had a trade in he saw it told them he wanted it and 2 weeks later it was his. He has never been happier with his purchase. So if getting a Harley creams your twinkie then get a Harley, I still don't care for them, end of story.

Had a Harley..the horse was cheaper. And...I did keep him in my garage a few days.lol. For real.
Seemed everytime we went on a run; the darn thing was always having to be put back together. Not just ours, but many others as well. We stopped a lot. We finally got a Honda Interstate. What a luxury it was. Saamoooooothe. It didn't over heat, and it never broke down.
I love them both. But the horse retuned my love. I have had several horses in my life. I wish I had a place to put one now.

WarDriverJ not matter the patch or put we are all brothers chopper Dan is right all my bikes even my custom Honda 1100 have had my hands all over them. I take stuff off do a little creative thinking and I have a bike like no one else’s. However, my passion still is and always will be my Harleys. Seeing the look on peoples faces when the look at my rigid 76 chopper and the rumble as the kicker brings her to life, nothing like it for me. Ride what you want to ride I do not preach against any bike just when it comes to Harley I know its history, the brothers I have met on my Harley and the joy or riding them. Do you know how the chopper started any one?

sorry no the answer is: Choppers started because riders were dissatisfied with what Harley-Davidson was producing. Rather than abandon H-D, riders streamlined the H-D bikes by removing excess equipment and then modifying the engines, rake, and suspension. The result was a personalized bike much like the bike in Easy Rider.

Choppers are not just indigenous to Harley-Davidson. Numerous choppers have been built from British and Japanese bikes.

I would much rather have a horse.... you don't get the same loyalty from a harly.

Okay, stop it! when you say bad things about a Harley, its like talking about my mom. no way can a Harley be this crappy?
The 2008 street glide i,m looking at is a beautiful bike, please don,t say its a piece of junk, but is it?
