They're trying to see if the grass really is greener on the other side? Then again even though I've been cheated on I've never found myself in a situation where I could cheat on someone so truthfully I have no idea.

There are different reasons people cheat.

For some they get bored with the same routine... Or lack of attention..
Others may be looking to try some thing that their committed one may not be willing to do...
Some even like the whole thrill of being caught. My guess would be that they think they are James bond that way. * shrugs*

I have never seen the need to myself..

People are biological entities living in a natural world constrained by what are ultimately arbitrary social contracts the enforcement of which are based purely on personal ability.

What you are ultimately asking is "why do people have sex or emotionally bond with other people even though at one point they said they weren't going to?"

You can make the question even more simple by slightly changing the motivator.
"Why do people eat, even though at one time they said they weren't hungry?"

Or "why is anyone obese?"

They are addicts and emotionally immature .. basically, they are still children stuck in their Toddler Tantrum mentality.

Dennis Hastert is an example .. or Arnold Swartzenegger is another public person that cheated ... or Hillary Clinton for example.

All of them children in an adult body ... and sex addicts that came from an oversexualize childhood. So they are over sexualized adults as a consequence.

Dennis was raped as a child ... so with his hormonal teenage development years .. he stayed heterosexual and got married, had children .. and then raped his children like he was as a child. Also, he raped children of his neighbors while still married today. HIs wife will not leave him because of her own co-dependency addiction.

Arnold Swartznegger had sex with the upstairs maid while doing it in his wife's bed in the Governor house (California). He made a baby out of wedlock .. and got a divorce. His wife did not know this was going on .. as she was blind to it .. in front of her own eyes.

That is because of her own childhood ... where her father was doing the upstairs maid will being married to mommy. She grew up and became just like her mom. The disease gets into the muscle memory and it is just like Ducks being born and following along behind mommy duck and doing what she does. She is a sex addict just the other side of the coin. If a person hates their mom they will be off with drugs, food, medicine, therapy and making magic ... they will be an addict.

If a person hates their dad then will be off with taking in money, paying debt, putting a roof over their heads, engaging in husbandry and uniting their family .... hence they will have divorces, affairs and dead children for a future. Girls do it slightly differently then boys .. but let me go down the boys list.

Boys are greedy and stingy .. always wanting something from you.

Men are kind and generous.

Boys argue, quibble and fight.

Men have nothing to prove.

Boys make a mess.

Man make better.

Boys are sex addicts and are always F-ing with the truth, with the law, with their neighbors, and F-ing up their future.

Men give them selves to their women ... no one touches them except her.

Men stay strong this way .. and WANT her to have him this way.

This is how boys become men .. the hormones come up and the brain changes.

So ...

Yup .. Dennis Hastert ... is still a boy.

Same for Arnold Swartzenegger .. or Bill Cllinton ... or Donald Trump.

It takes awhile to see it .. but it is there for the person who has eyes to see.

The more you get out of your addictions and easier it is to see.
