Topic: Holiday Blues...? | |
---|---|
This will be my first christmas alone. I bought a house this week,
putting down my own roots. Will probably still be painting on Dec. 25. lol. Turn up the music and surround yourself with friends!!! That's my advice. |

That is a good idea, you can always invite friends from work over or
have a painting party on Christmas, or volunteer at a soup kitchen or some church feeding the homeless, that would get you out around others. Just a thought. |

I dunno if they have it in your area but we have "shoebox" clubs. Where
you fill a shoebox full of christmas stuff for a kid and then they come see santa and get a shoebox and you are there to see them open it. Its really fun.. just an idea to look for something like that. |

Holiday blues means different things to different people...for some its
the first holiday without a loved one, to others the end of another year that maybe goals were not meant...these are the things that make one sad...! |

This holiday season is gonna be rough for me. I'm used to being mostly
alone during them but this year I'm 1500 miles from any close friends and my kids and I'm not going to be able to afford to fly back for Christmas to see my kids as I had hoped to :( Haven't seen them in 8 months and odds are good it'll be that much longer to maybe even a year before I can :( I have the time off due me but the price of a plane ticket and then the need of renting a car not to mention just eating expenses (I can stay with friends in Ohio or my Mom depending on where I actually stay so room isn't an issue) would eat up what I've managed to save since I moved here and then I couldn't give the kids a darned thing so I'll be sending them checks with love instead of seeing them. |

Nope, I can't say that I've had that feeling during the holidays.

passed away last year of cancer. Things are getting better and having all the new grandkids help alot. Thank gawd for kids |

The holidays suck for many of us because of the expense, travel,
preparation and commercialism. Plus, for many of us, it means gathering with people we wouldn't necessarily want to hang out with otherwise. Then, after all the hoopla...poof!!...it's over. |
